China rains: At least 19 people have been killed after a part of a highway collapsed in Southern China's Guangdong province on Wednesday.
According to CCTV, the incident transpired around 2:10 am (1810 GMT Tuesday), causing a section of road between Meizhou city and Dabu county to cave in, trapping dozens of people in 18 vehicles.
As per officials, the people who were taken were "not currently at risk."

CCTV reported that approximately 500 individuals have been sent to the site by authorities to assist with the rescue efforts.
These personnel are sourced from various departments responsible for public security, emergency response, firefighting, and mining rescue.
Local authorities issued a notice indicating the closure of part of the S12 highway in both directions and instructed drivers to follow alternative routes.
