China gas explosion: 7 killed, 27 injured in deadly explosion in building in Yanjiao

China gas explosion:  In a horrific and dreadful incident, seven people killed and 27 injured in a deadly explosion that took place in a building in Yanjiao town in China on Wednesday.

The tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday and as per the latest notice, the death toll rose from two to seven killed in the incident that happened in Yanjiao, located to the east of Beijing.

At 7:54 am on Wednesday, an explosion, believed to be triggered by a gas leak, occurred at a fried chicken establishment in Yanjiao, Sanhe City, located in Hebei Province in North China.

This led to significant destruction of nearby structures. Subsequent to the event, immediate response was initiated as local fire, emergency, and medical personnel swiftly arrived to manage the crisis.

As per the media sources, the authorities promptly reached out to the Health Commission of Hebei Province when the accident happened, urging for the urgent deployment of provincial medical specialists to the site for immediate medical assistance.

The National Health Commission (NHC) affirmed its commitment to overseeing both medical and psychological care for the injured, ensuring that experts will be readily available for further support as required, as reported by CCTV on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the live footage of the incident, the 4-story building collapsed after the explosion, and its glass shattered in nearby buildings.

It further damaged cars on the road and left debris scattered on the ground. The building opposite the explosion site also suffered varying degrees of damage, with glass and other debris occasionally falling from it.

Notably, China has seen a series of deadly incidents caused by gas leaks in recent years.
