PTC News Desk: US President Joe Biden has authorised Ukraine to use long-range missiles provided by US to strike deep inside Russia while easing restrictions on the long range weapons, Biden administration's approval comes after Russia deployed thousands of North Korean troops to reinforce its war. The North Korean troops along Ukraine's northern border have been positioned with an objective to seize miles of territory.

Biden's decision comes amidst President elect Donald Trump's talks with Putin and Zelenskyy while Russia has expressed its willingness for dialogue. Trump also claimed that he would bring about a swift end to the war and raised uncertainty about whether his administration would continue the United States’ vital military support for Ukraine.

Zelenskyy and many of his Western supporters have been pressing Biden for months to allow Ukraine to strike military targets deeper inside Russia with Western-supplied missiles, saying the US. ban had made it impossible for Ukraine to try to stop Russian attacks on its cities and electrical grids.

Earlier Russia had warned that any approval to Ukraine to use long range missiles to attack deep in Russian would put entire Nato directly at war with nuclear-armed Russia. Putin has warned that Moscow could provide long-range weapons to others to strike Western targets if NATO allies allow Ukraine to use their arms to attack Russian territory.

US President-elect Donald Trump who is set to assume office in January 2025, has repeatedly spoke for months about ending the Russia-Ukraine war as soon as he returns to power.
