Israel-Gaza conflict: At least 400 foreign nationals are expected to leave Gaza and enter Egypt via the Rafah crossing, according to Wael Abu Umar, a Palestinian official at the crossing.

This comes after the overnight release of a list of 595 names of people who appear to have received clearance to leave Gaza.

Those on the list were told to arrive at the Rafah crossing on Thursday at 7 a.m. local time. According to CNN, the list includes approximately 400 Americans, with the remainder coming from 14 different countries.

The Rafah crossing partially reopened on Wednesday to allow foreign nationals and injured Palestinians to be evacuated.

The Rafah crossing partially opened on Wednesday to allow for the evacuation of foreign nationals and injured Palestinians, the first such opening since the outbreak of hostilities on October 7.

According to CNN, an Egyptian government official confirmed that 45 people had already entered Egypt and were receiving treatment.

The conflict in Gaza erupted following Hamas's October 7 attack, in which approximately 2,500 terrorists breached the border into Israel from the Gaza Strip, resulting in casualties and the capture of hostages.

Since October 7, over 8,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks. The Hamas attack on Israel claimed the lives of over 1,400 people.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently stated unequivocally that Israel would not agree to a cease-fire, drawing parallels to the US position following the bombing of Pearl Harbour.

Netanyahu called it a watershed moment for nations, saying that it is now up to everyone to decide whether they are willing to fight for a future of hope and promise or to submit to tyranny and terror. According to him, Israel has been at war since October 7.
