Afghanistan road mishap: 52 killed , more than 60 injured in two bus accidents
Both the accidents took place on in Ghazni province on the same highway between the capital Kabul and southern Kandahar city late Wednesday.
PTC News Desk: In a spate of accidents, at least 52 people were killed and more than 60 wee injured in two bus accidents involving fuel tanker and a truck on a highway.
Both the accidents took place on in Ghazni province on the same highway between the capital Kabul and southern Kandahar city late Wednesday.
“We learned with great regret that two fatal traffic accidents occurred on the Kabul-Kandahar Highway, in which 52 of our compatriots were killed and 65 others were injured," said chief government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.
One bus collided with a fuel tanker near Shahbaz village in central Ghazni while the other hit a truck in the eastern district of Andar.
Soon after the accident, rescue teams rushed to the spot and injured were immediately transported to the hospital.
These traffic accidents have raised serious concerns over the poor road infrastructure and lack of regulation.
