PTC News Desk: Despite an 11-hour search, rescue personnel found no survivors at the site of a small passenger plane crash in Thailand that took off from Bangkok airport on Friday, local media said.

According to the Bangkok Post, the Thai Flying Service-operated Cessna Caravan C208 (HS-SKR) with nine persons on board, including five Chinese nationals, left Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok at 2.46 p.m. on August 22 and reportedly lost communication with the Suvarnabhumi control tower around 3 p.m.

The plane was on a domestic flight, destined for Trat's Ko Mai Chee airport.

The incident occurred at 3.18 p.m. behind Wat Khao Din in Bang Pakong district, according to Thai news daily, and the plane's wreckage was discovered in the mud in a mangrove forest near the temple.

According to the report, the site also had women's clothes and an image of three foreign women.

The victims included five Chinese nationals, two Thai flight attendants, and the pilot. Pornsak Totab, 30, was the co-pilot.

Meanwhile, CNN claimed that residents in Chachoengsao's Bang Pakong district said they saw a plane fall from the sky and "explode loudly" upon impact, with debris damaging nearby homes.

Large excavators dug through the mud and mangrove plants, with some workers standing in knee-deep ponds to remove debris.
