PTC News Desk: As the public of Unites States has geared up to elect its new president, recent polls indicate a close knit race between significant seven swing states that will decide the fate of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican opponent Donald Trump.

These pivotal states Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are known to be the primary battlegrounds having 93 electoral votes and each candidate requires 270 of the total 538 electoral votes required to secure the presidency.

The reason these states are known as swing states is that these states because of their electoral contribution can shift the results between Democratic and Republicans. Historically these states have narroe voting margins and varied outcomes over the time. These states are also the focal point of the leaders where put their full strength in order to sway the voters and secure crucial electoral votes.

On the final day of campaigning, both Harris and Trump held marathon rallies in Pennsylvania, the largest of the swing states with 19 electoral college votes.

Electoral votes of 7 swing states

Pennsylvania: 19 Electoral Votes

Michigan: 15 Electoral Votes

Wisconsin: 10 Electoral Votes

Arizona: 11 Electoral Votes

Georgia: 16 Electoral Votes

North Carolina: 16 Electoral Votes

Nevada: 6 Electoral Votes

Out of these seven states, three states in particular Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin are crucial for Harris' victory as they are considered to be Democratic bastion until Trump 2016 when Trump gain momentum and flipped in all three states breaking Democrat's winning streak. However, in 2020 Joe Biden once again regained these seats.

If experts are to be believed, Harris will be requiring 45 electoral seats besides her comfort states, heavily banking on Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin that could pave her way for victory. For Trump, the path to 270 would likely require reclaiming key battlegrounds he won in 2016, particularly Pennsylvania and Michigan, along with success in historically Democrat-leaning states like North Carolina.
