Violence expected in Islamabad as PM Imran Khan faces no-trust vote

Islamabad (Pakistan), April 3: As the National Assembly proceeds to vote on a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and its leadership have planned to incite unrest in Islamabad. During Saturday's Geo News programme "Naya Pakistan," a senior Pakistani journalist stated that sources have informed him that the government and PTI leadership have decided to stop the opposition from leaving the parliament lodges and entering the lower house. According to the media outlet, whether the opposition enters the Assembly or remains outside, "they will be beaten," Geo tv journalist Hamid Mir stated after Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the youth and PTI supporters to protest "peacefully" for two days. Imran Khan is set to face a no-confidence vote in Pakistan's National Assembly on Sunday, following weeks of political mudslinging, name-calling and claims of an international conspiracy.
