Now, some details can only be updated for limited times. UIDAI has placed limits of times one can update/change name, date of birth and gender details in one's Aadhaar card. Earlier, UIDAI restricted the number of times a person could update/change his/her date of birth in Aadhaar card to just one. Now as per UIDAI's office memorandum, a person can update his/her name in Aadhaar card only two times. Now, date of birth can be only be updated once in the Aadhaar card, as the rules regarding updation of date of birth have been tightened. Also, the change in date of birth will only be permitted to the maximum range of more/less than three years of the date of birth recorded during enrolment for Aadhaar card. In case a person does not have a documentary proof for date of birth at the time of enrolment, then the DOB with the UIDAI will be recorded as declared or approximate. https://www.ptcnews.tv/kbc-11-amitabh-bachchan-issues-apology-over-chhatrapati-shivaji-maharaj-title-row/ Therefore, if in future, a person wishes to change his/her date of birth, then he/she will have to provide the documentary proof of date of birth.
