Two bodies recovered after flash floods in Kullu’s Solang Nullah

Kullu (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 16: Bodies of 2 persons have been recovered from Kullu’s Solang Nullah as flash floods hit Himachal Pradesh caused by heavy rains in the region. Earlier, on Tuesday morning one of the bodies was recovered and second was recovered on Tuesday afternoon. The total tally of missing people is still unknown. According to the sources, the incident took place while two people were crossing a bridge built on a drain in Solang, Manali. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has predicted isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorm for today. Taking to its official twitter account, IMD wrote, "...Isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Himachal Pradesh on August 16, 19 and 20." Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, Ashutosh Garg had said on Monday, "A temporary bridge has been reported to be washed away by the flow of water in the Solang area of Manali. Some people were also crossing this bridge when the accident took place. As per eyewitnesses two people drowned in the drain and the authorities are trying to recover the body of one of the deceased."
