PTC Wed Desk: Shah Rukh Khan has become the highest taxpayer among Indian celebrities for the financial year 2024, paying a whopping Rs 92 crore in taxes for FY 2024. The Bollywood superstar, whose net worth stands at an estimated Rs 7,300 crore, has left behind his contemporaries in terms of tax contributions.

Following close behind is Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, who has paid Rs 80 crore in taxes. His net worth is reported to be around Rs 800 crore. Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan also rank among the top five highest taxpayers in the Indian entertainment industry.

Shah Rukh Khan: Third richest actor in the world, surpasses Tom Cruise

Shah Rukh Khan has not only become India's highest taxpayer but also ranks as the third richest actor globally, surpassing Hollywood star Tom Cruise, whose net worth is around Rs 5,000 crore. In 2023, Shah Rukh delivered two blockbuster films, 'Jawan' and 'Pathaan', both of which crossed the Rs 2,000 crore mark in worldwide box office collections.

Leading the list of the world’s richest actors is Tyler Perry, with a net worth of Rs 11,700 crore, followed by Jerry Seinfeld, whose net worth is around Rs 9,000 crore.

Thalapathy Vijay: Highest taxpayer in Tamil film industry

Thalapathy Vijay has set a record in the Tamil film industry by paying Rs 80 crore in taxes for FY 2024. His net worth stands at Rs 800 crore. In 2023, his films 'Varisu' and 'Leo' made significant earnings at the box office, with 'Leo' grossing Rs 612 crore globally, making it the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year. Vijay’s recent release 'The Goat' grossed Rs 100 crore worldwide on its opening day alone.

Born Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, he made his acting debut at the age of 18 in film 'Naalaiya Theerpu'.

Salman Khan: Charges Rs 100 crore per film

Salman Khan contributed Rs 75 crore in taxes for FY 2024. His net worth is estimated to be around Rs 2,900 crore. Salman reportedly charges Rs 100 crore per film and earns Rs 300 crore annually from brand endorsements. He owns a production house as well.

Salman’s 2023 release 'Tiger 3' earned over Rs 466 crore worldwide. While he started as a romantic actor in the 1990s, Salman’s image has since evolved into that of "Bhai." He also owns the clothing brand ‘Being Human.’

Amitabh Bachchan: Earns Rs 8 crore from brand endorsements and TV Sshows

Amitabh Bachchan's net worth is Rs 1,600 crore, according to the 2024 Hurun India Rich List. His income comes from films, his popular TV show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', and brand endorsements, for which he charges between Rs 5 and Rs 8 crore. Investments in stocks and real estate also contribute significantly to his wealth.

Virat Kohli: Earns Rs 7 crore annually from BCCI contract

International cricket star Virat Kohli's net worth is around Rs 1,000 crore. Kohli earns Rs 7 crore annually through his Grade A contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He also receives match fees of Rs 15 lakh for Tests, Rs 6 lakh for ODIs, and Rs 3 lakh for T20s.
