PTC Web Desk: Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, known for his mastery on the field, is currently embracing the enchanting landscapes of Kashmir in his inaugural trip to the region. Accompanied by his wife, Anjali, and daughter, Sara, the legendary batter is relishing every moment of his winter escapade. Retired from professional cricket in 2013, Sachin Tendulkar recently engaged in gully cricket with locals in Gulmarg, basking in the thrill of the game amidst snow-covered settings. The cricket maestro's Kashmir adventure continued as he savored the beauty of Pahalgam, where he encountered the season's "first" snowfall. Sharing glimpses of his picturesque journey on X (formerly Twitter), Tendulkar posted photos capturing the essence of the moment. In one delightful snapshot, Tendulkar posed alongside a local goat, blending seamlessly with the serene surroundings.
Days before his snowfall rendezvous, Sachin Tendulkar delighted cricket enthusiasts by participating in a spirited game of gully cricket with locals. Displaying his playful side, Tendulkar even challenged a bowler to dismiss him on the last ball, wielding his bat upside down. Unsurprisingly, the cricket maestro skillfully defended the challenge, leaving the bowler thwarted.
"Cricketer & Kashmir: A MATCH in HEAVEN!" Tendulkar captioned the video of his gully cricket rendezvous, emphasizing the harmonious blend of cricket and the heavenly landscapes of Kashmir.
Earlier in the week, Sachin Tendulkar paid a visit to the Aman Setu bridge, marking the last point on the Line of Control in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. During his hour-long interaction with soldiers at the Kaman Post near Aman Setu, Tendulkar played roadside cricket with local boys. The boys, eager to learn from the cricket legend, observed Tendulkar's footwork and shot techniques in awe.
The 50-year-old cricket maestro continues to command a massive global fanbase, with the iconic 'Sachin Sachin' chants echoing wherever he goes. A viral video on social media captured Tendulkar's emotional response as co-passengers on a flight cheered and chanted his name. Even after retirement, Tendulkar's enduring popularity was evident as he graciously acknowledged the ovation with folded hands, a testament to his indelible impact on cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
Sachin Tendulkar's maiden Kashmir sojourn not only showcases his love for the sport but also highlights the magical allure of the region, where cricket and breathtaking landscapes converge to create unforgettable memories.
