Air India introduces new uniforms: Uniform changes for airline staff, including flight attendants and ground personnel, is relatively common and can be part of a company's rebranding efforts or a desire to modernize its image.

Marking the dawn of new era in flight couture, Air India unveiled new uniforms for cabin crew, cockpit crew and pilots designed by renowned Indian couturier Manish Malhotra. 


The new uniform of Air India is blend of elements of Indian culture and representation of India's rich cultural heritage. The new crew uniform is representation of traditional Indian attire or motifs, showcasing a blend of modernity and tradition.

 

These uniforms are envisioned by India’s leading couturier, features three quintessential Indian colours – red, aubergine and gold, representing the confident, vibrant new India.


Air India female crew uniform 

The airline’s female cabin crew will wear ombre sarees with a modern touch, with intricate jharokha patterns and the Vista (new Air India logo icon), paired with a blouse and blazer. 

The ready-to-wear sarees can be optionally worn with comfortable pants in move is to provide greater flexibility for female cabin crew to choose the style they most identify with and bring a unique East-meets-West look. 


Air India male crew uniform 

Airline’s male crew cabin crew will wear bandhgalas. For the cockpit crew, the celebrated designer envisioned classic black suits.

Uniforms prioritise efficiency and ease of movement during in-flight duties for both male and female cabin crew. Malhotra has also selected stylish and comfortable footwear for female cabin crew, such as dual-tone block heels and black Brogues has also been unveiled. 


Manish Malhotra is a prominent Indian fashion designer known for his work in the Bollywood film industry and the Indian fashion world.  Manish Malhotra's designs often blend traditional Indian aesthetics with modern and contemporary styles. He is known for his intricate embroidery, use of luxurious fabrics, and a keen sense of colour.
