PTC News Desk: Tamil Nadu's hill station, Ooty, experienced an unusual chill as the minimum temperature plunged to 1.3°C, bringing frost to the region. The picturesque town, located in the Nilgiris district, resembled a mini-Kashmir as residents grappled with the cold, gathering around bonfires for warmth.

This sudden temperature drop disrupted daily routines, and locals navigated icy conditions caused by the delayed onset of frost, usually experienced from November to February. Areas like Ooty City, Kanthal, Pinker Post, and Thalai Kunta witnessed frozen landscapes, with water droplets on lawns turning into a white carpet.

The frost-covered scenery was captured in a video shared by news agency ANI on X, showcasing the picturesque yet chilly transformation of Ooty. Despite the challenges posed by the cold weather, the unique sight garnered attention online, with thousands of views, likes, and retweets within a short period. The delayed onset of frost this year added an unexpected winter charm to Ooty's already enchanting landscape.
