Viral: Islamabad raid turns into looting spree as locals ransack fake call centre
Videos circulating on social media show men, both young and old, grabbing laptops and even furniture and cutlery

PTC Web Desk: A raid by Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on an illegal call centre in Islamabad took an unexpected turn when locals stormed the premises and looted everything in sight. The call centre, allegedly operated by Chinese nationals in Sector F-11, was reportedly involved in fraudulent activities, prompting the authorities to take action.
However, as the FIA moved in, so did the locals. Videos circulating on social media show men, both young and old, grabbing laptops, desktops, monitors, keyboards, power extensions, and even furniture and cutlery. The scene quickly descended into chaos as people ransacked the premises, treating it as a free-for-all.
A viral video shared on X captured the bizarre incident, with a user commenting, "Pakistanis have looted a call centre operated by Chinese in Islamabad; hundreds of laptops and electronic components, along with furniture and cutlery, were stolen during the holy month of Ramadan."
The FIA's raid led to the arrest of 24 persons, including several foreigners, while some managed to escape. Reports suggest that the call centre was scamming people worldwide, leading to its crackdown.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in Pakistan. In September last year, a newly opened mall in Karachi was overrun by looters who stole merchandise and vandalised the property.
