PTC Web Desk: In a bizarre and hilarious turn of events, three buffaloes found themselves "under arrest" at Jodhpur’s Banad police station for three days, as the police tried to ascertain their rightful owner. The case, involving a vehicle, some buffaloes, and a heartwarming reunion, has gone viral for its unique resolution.

The saga began on November 30, when a suspicious vehicle carrying three buffaloes was intercepted by the police during a late-night patrol. Mohammed Sharif, the driver, failed to provide a satisfactory explanation or documents for the animals, prompting the officials to take the bovine passengers into "custody."

Left with three buffaloes and no clear owner, the police did what anyone would in such a situation: they turned to social media. A video was uploaded, urging the rightful owner to come forward and claim their livestock. For two days, the buffaloes remained unclaimed, leaving them to enjoy the “hospitality” of the police station.

On December 2, Mohammed Sharif returned to the station, claiming ownership of the buffaloes. But the police were skeptical—how could the man whose vehicle was seized suddenly declare himself the rightful owner? To resolve the matter, officials devised a clever test: Sharif was asked to bring the buffaloes’ calves to the station.

When Sharif arrived with the calves, the mystery unraveled in the most touching way. The calves bolted toward the buffaloes and began nursing, leaving no doubt about their maternal bond. The heartwarming scene not only delighted the officers but also confirmed Sharif’s claim.

Banad police station in-charge Premdan Ratnu summed it up: “Our only aim was to ensure the buffaloes reached their rightful owner. No case was registered, and everyone went home happy—especially the buffaloes.”

The unusual episode has sparked laughter across social media, with users calling it the “moo-st dramatic custody battle” ever. Perhaps next time, these buffaloes will think twice before taking a midnight ride!
