Punjab: Rs 18 lakh robbery in Amritsar's Punjab National Bank branch

Amritsar, December 19: Two armed robbers decamped with Rs 18 lakh from a branch of Punjab National Bank in Punjab's Amritsar on Monday. The police reached the spot and questioned bank employees in this regard.
Interestingly, Punjab National Bank's is just 300 metre away from the Kathunangal police station. As per information, two armed men with their faces covered arrived at the bank at Kathunangal in Punjab's Amritsar and held the employees hostage. The assailants asked all those present there to keep their cellphones aside.

Sources said no security personnel had been deputed at this branch in the last 10 years. The robbers seemed to be well aware of this fact. They fearlessly entered the branch and decamped with Rs 18 lakh in cash. The police have recovered CCTV footages from the spot and started further investigations. A case has also been registered.
