India Post GDS Recruitment 2024: In a notification, the nation's largest postal network service, India Post, announced the opening of 44,228 positions for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). It further stated that online applications for the positions are accepted from July 15 to August 5, 2024, at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

For FY25, those hired will hold the positions of Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Branch Postmaster (BPM), also known as Dak Sevak. The salaries for the positions are ?10,000–24,470 for GDS and ABPM, and ?12,000–29,380 for BPM.

In all of India, 44,228 positions have been announced. And everyone with a Class 10 certificate between the ages of 18 and 40 is eligible to apply. Applicants must present their Secondary School Examination Pass Certificate, which must verify their graduation from any government-approved school board with passing grades in both English and mathematics.

Three steps make up the process: online application, application fee, and registration.

How to Apply

  1. Go to www.indiapostgdsonline.gov.in, the official website of India Post, to register.
  2. To register with a password, you will want your email address and mobile number.
  3. Next, in order to finish the online registration process, you will have to pay an application cost.
  4. After making your payment, you can apply online by choosing the Division and Exercise options.
  5. Before submitting the application in the specified format and size, you must upload a photo and a digital signature.
  6. In order for your documents to be verified during the following stages of recruitment, you must also select the Divisional Head of the division for which you are applying.

India's Employment Situation

In FY24, the nation added 4.67 crore jobs. Based on data from the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) Measuring Productivity at Industrial Level-The India KLEMS (capital, labor, energy, material, services) program, there are currently 64.33 crore provisional positions, up from 59.67 crore in FY23. 

This figure is far higher than the approximations from private surveys that highlight the high unemployment rate in the nation.

Based on RBI figures, India's employment increased by 6% in FY24 compared to 3.2% in FY23. Based on data from Citibank, an increase of 7% would result in the creation of 80 lakh to 90 lakh employment in India. 1.1 crore to 1.2 crore jobs are currently needed in the nation.
