PTC News Desk: On late evening of May 7, the Border Security Force (BSF) received a tip-off from a vigilant local resident regarding the presence of a drone in the border area of Tarn Taran district. Acting swiftly, BSF troops, in conjunction with Punjab Police, immediately mobilised to conduct a thorough search operation.

At approximately 7:30 pm on the same day, during the search operation, the joint team successfully located and recovered a damaged drone along with a packet containing suspected heroin, weighing 210 grams.

The narcotics were concealed within the packet, wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, with a loop fashioned for handling. This seizure occurred within a farming field adjacent to TJ Singh village in Tarn Taran district.

The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic model.

This interception is attributed to the prompt sharing of information by a law-abiding villager and the coordinated efforts of the BSF and Punjab Police. Their vigilance and collaboration thwarted yet another attempt at smuggling narcotics via an illicit drone originating from across the border in Pakistan.

This successful operation underscores the importance of community involvement and seamless coordination between law enforcement agencies in combating cross-border smuggling activities. The BSF and Punjab Police remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of the border regions, safeguarding against threats posed by illicit activities such as drug smuggling.
