Amritsar Firing News: Migrant shoots self with security guard's pistol near Sri Harmandir Sahib

PTC News Desk: A distressing scene unfolded in Amritsar near Sri Harmandir Sahib when a pilgrim took his own life by shooting himself with a security guard's pistol. The incident occurred outside the Shani Mandir, near the Ghanta Ghar entrance of the sacred site, creating an atmosphere of chaos and tension among visitors.

Reports indicate that the migrant managed to access the firearm from the security detail assigned to a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, who was visiting Sri Harmandir Sahib that day. The police and security personnel had been deployed alongside the judge, and the incident transpired while ASI Ashwani Kumar was present.

According to police statements, the unidentified individual shot himself after seizing the weapon from ASI Ashwani Kumar, who was part of the security detail in the pilot vehicle accompanying the judge. Tragically, the pilgrim died at the scene.

The area remains tense as authorities conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. Police are working to gather more information about the deceased and the events leading up to the incident.
