ODI World Cup 2023: In the ODI World Cup 2023, Virat Kohli boasts an incredible average of 118. Team India's unbeaten run in the tournament is no accident, and Kohli's exceptional form with the bat has been a consistent highlight. The secret behind his extraordinary fitness, which keeps the 'run machine' going, has now been unveiled.

While traveling from city to city for their league fixtures, the Indian cricket team has been treated to sumptuous yet healthy meals, thanks to the efforts of top hotel chefs. For the ongoing World Cup, this holds true, and Virat Kohli's diet, in particular, has piqued the interest of fans and experts alike, considering its transformative impact on his performance.

Renowned chef Anshuman Bali of the Leela Palace Hotel shared insights into the dietary preferences of most Indian players, emphasising the importance of protein and carbohydrates. For Virat Kohli, who has adopted a strict fitness regimen, vegetarian options are paramount. The star batsman turned vegan, inspired by top athletes worldwide, and has maintained this diet throughout the ODI World Cup 2023. His meals include steamed dishes, soya-based options with minimal dairy, and lean proteins, such as tofu. These dietary choices have contributed to his exceptional fitness levels.

"The buffet has all kinds of meat, but the players opt for steamed or grilled chicken or fish. Virat doesn't eat meat, so we went for steamed foods, like vegetarian dim sums, and other vegetable-based proteins, like soya, mock meats, and lean proteins, like tofu for him. We include as little dairy as possible in his meals," explained Bali.

Virat Kohli's phenomenal performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 is a testament to his consistency. With 354 runs from five matches, he boasts an average of 118, rivaling top batsmen like David Warner and Quinton de Kock for the tournament's highest run-scorer. Additionally, Kohli is on the cusp of surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar for the most centuries in ODI history.

As the tournament unfolds, cricket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate whether Virat Kohli will continue to demonstrate his remarkable skills and secure his position as the ODI World Cup's leading run-scorer.
