Tomato prices have witnessed a cut down in the past two weeks in Punjab and Haryana due to bulk supplies in the markets. Onion, potato, peas, pumpkin, beans, carrots and spinach, have remained largely unchanged during the past fortnight as far as the price is concerned, traders said today. Tomato prices have registered a steep fall from last month’s Rs 20 to Rs 30 per kg in retail to Rs 7-15 per kg during the past two weeks, they said. Prices of tomato in the wholesale markets were fetching them mere Rs 2-3 per kg, claim farmers. However, lemon prices, have registered an increase, from Rs 60-Rs 80 per kg last month to Rs 100-Rs 120 per kg now. -PTC News
