‘The Kashmir Files’ is still making an unstoppable blast in the box office collection and receiving a phenomenal response from the audience, especially during the weekends thus creating history. Though the film has generated a huge buzz as some states announced the tax exemption, there are certain states that have opposed it and banned its screening. According to the sources, Anupam Kher, who played Pushkar Nath Pandit in 'The Kashmir Files', was paid Rs 1 crore. Mithun Chakraborty, who played IAS Brahma Dutt in the film, was paid Rs 1.5 crore, while Pallavi Joshi, who played Radhika Menon, got Rs 50-70 lakh. Mrinal Kulkarni was paid Rs 50 lakh to play Laxmi Dutt in the film and Darshan Kumar was given Rs 45 lakh to play Krishna Pandit. Punit Issar, who played DGP Hari Narain, is said to have charged Rs 50 lakh. The film's director, Vivek Agnihotri, is said to have demanded Rs 1 crore for it. Notably, the film also crossed to more than Rs 150 mark-crore within the second week since the movie hit cinemas. The film has been made tax free in several states including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, Chandigarh and Uttarakhand.
