'The Flying Sikh' Milkha Singh passes away due to post-COVID complication

Milkha Singh Dead: Legendary Indian Sprinter Milkha Singh, also known as The Flying Sikh, who was admitted to PGIMER Chandigarh due to post-coronavirus complications, passed away on Friday. According to the PGIMER Chandigarh, Milkha Singh was admitted to the ICU of Covid Hospital of PGIMER on June 03, 2021, and was treated for Covid there till June 13 when after putting up a valiant battle with Covid, Milkha Singh tested negative for coronavirus. Despite best of the efforts by the medical team, Milkha Singh could not be retrieved from his critical condition and after a brave fight, he left for his heavenly abode at 11.30 pm on June 18, 2021. Little did I know that it would be our last conversation. Several budding athletes will derive strength from his life journey. My condolences to his family and many admirers all over the world."
