The Flying Sikh Milkha Singh cremated in Chandigarh with full state honours
Milkha Singh Cremation: Tributes have been pouring in from across the globe as The Flying Sikh Milkha Singh died at the age of 91 following post-COVID complications on Friday, June 18.
The cremation of the legendary sprinter Milkha Singh held in Chandigarh with full state honours. His mortal remains were kept at his residence in Chandigarh's Sector 8. Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, Punjab Governor and UT Chandigarh Administrator VP Singh Badnore, and Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh were among those present.

Meanwhile, Chandigarh Police was busy beefing up security at his residence due to the visit of prominent personalities.

The former sprinter tested positive for COVID-19 last month and was in isolation at his home in Chandigarh before getting admitted to the ICU of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) hospital.
