Gugnesh Khurrana – general secretary, focal association point, Ludhiana along with Arshpreet Singh Sahani – organisation secretary-CII Ludhiana. “Punjab is land of agriculture but it has limits; land won’t increase and obviously income will also not increase. If we want to create a good economy in Punjab, we will have to plant industries and those industries would be those that people of Punjab give their acceptance to. That is the only way to increase employment in the state. Most of the industries wish to be located near the shore so that import and export can become easy for them. And as we know Punjab is a landlocked province, so to overcome this barrier we will need a permanent solution. The last time in 2007 we had our government in Punjab; I called upon the industrialist and asked them what problems they face?” “The very prominent problem back then was disrupted supply of power. There was nothing in the name of airport and road connectivity. So this discussion brought me to the conclusion that if we want industry in Punjab first of all we need to ensure these basic amenities are given from the government’s end. Therefore our government did our very best and made this state of Punjab a power surplus state.” Also Read | Sukhbir @ 7pm: Opposition targetting SAD as it's only Punjab's party, says Sukhbir Singh Badal “Mohali, Bathinda and Jalandhar government airport Ludhiana airport will be competed soon. We gave best roadways infrastructure in the state. We launched “Invest Punjab” department and that was enough to grant 30 permissions are once. Industries worth 1 lakh crores came to Punjab. So we need an explicit vision for industry, I strongly favour freedom for the industrialists of Punjab.” For more details check out the full Episode of Sukhbir @ 7 -PTC News
