Virat Kohli breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s record, becomes fastest to reach 27,000 international runs

PTC Web Desk: Virat Kohli, the star batter of the Indian cricket team, has added another milestone to his already remarkable career by becoming the fastest player to reach 27,000 international runs. The achievement came during Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. Virat Kohli surpassed Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's record, who reached the mark in 623 innings, while Kohli accomplished it in just 594 innings. This makes him the only cricketer to reach 27,000 international runs in fewer than 600 innings.

Other players who have achieved this feat include former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara. Kohli’s achievement is yet another highlight in his illustrious career, cementing his place among the greatest cricketers of all time.

Meanwhile, on the field, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took two quick wickets, reducing Bangladesh to 26 for 2 in their second innings. India dominated Day 4, leading by 26 runs, with Ashwin's figures standing at 2/14. Earlier in the day, fifties from Yashasvi Jaiswal (71 off 52) and KL Rahul (68 off 43) propelled India to declare at 285 for nine, securing a 52-run lead.

Bangladesh’s first innings ended at 233, with Indian bowlers, including Ashwin and Shakib Al Hasan, sharing the spoils.
