T20 World Cup 2024: Rohit Sharma's post-match comment about Virat Kohli highlights leadership qualities
In the current T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli is going through a slump. Only 75 runs have been scored by him in 7 innings throughout this edition of the major tournament.
PTC News Desk: In the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, Virat Kohli is going through a hard patch. Only 75 runs have been scored by him in 7 innings throughout this edition of the major tournament. Due to his bad form, Kohli has also recorded two ducks. Kohli failed with a run-a-ball 9 and lost his wicket to Reece Topley in the third over of India's batting in Thursday's semi-final matchup with England.
However, captain Rohit Sharma stuck by the star batter after the game, stating that his form is not a problem. "Kohli is an excellent player. That may happen to any athlete. We are aware of his status and significance. Form never poses an issue. There is intention. Definitely (supporting Kohli in the final)," Rohit declared following the match.
After ten years, Team India made it to the T20 World Cup final. On Thursday at Providence Stadium in Guyana, the team captained by Rohit Sharma defeated England by a decisive 68 runs. As a result, the 2007 winners secured a summit match against South Africa, who defeated Afghanistan by nine wickets in the opening semi-final.

In Guyana, after being summoned to bat, India amassed a total of 171 for 7 in 20 overs thanks to significant performances by Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. Before Rohit and Suryakumar put up a strong 73-run partnership to save the team, India were 40 for 2 in 5.2 overs. Suryakumar batted 47 off 36, while Rohit fell for 57 off 39.
After that, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav each took 3 for 19, severely hurting England's chase in the second innings.
As a team, we've been incredibly composed. We recognize the moment (final). Making wise choices is aided by maintaining composure. That will enable us to win the game. You must be a competent cricket player. We want to accomplish it in the end," Rohit remarked.
