Paris Olympics 2024: 2 trains carrying athletes stopped hours before mega opening

France's rail company SNCF reported that one train had to be canceled, while efforts were underway to resume operations for the other

Paris Olympics 2024: Just hours before the much-anticipated opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024, two trains transporting Olympic athletes to Paris on the western Atlantique line were halted. 

France's rail company SNCF reported that one train had to be canceled, while efforts were underway to resume operations for the other. 

Meanwhile, France's high-speed train network suffered a series of arson attacks and other "malicious acts", causing significant disruptions and raising security concerns.

French railway operator SNCF reported acts of vandalism on several of its high-speed train routes.
