Mahendra Singh Dhoni worked as a Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) from 2001 to 2003 at the Kharagpur Railway Station under South Eastern Railway in Midnapore.

Before entering  into full time cricket as a profession, Dhoni used to play football and served as a goalkeeper in the school football team and even tried his hand at badminton.

Dhoni owns around 40 acres but was farming on just 4 to 5 acres. He became a full-time farmer in 2020 during COVID-19 pandemic.
