IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, Shreyas Iyer among most expensive Indian players in IPL history
Arshdeep Singh became the most expensive Indian player in the history of the IPL auction. The fast bowler was sold for Rs 18 crore to Punjab Kings, who used their Right To Match card at the big auction in Jeddah on Sunday, November 24.
IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Arshdeep Singh, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer became most expensive Indian players in the history of the IPL auction. Rishabh Pant was sold to LSG for the most expensive 27 crore bid. Arshdeep was sold for Rs 18 crore to Punjab Kings, who used their Right To Match card at the big auction in Jeddah on Sunday, November 24. Shreyas' base price was Rs 2 crore. He was with the Kolkata Knight Riders but was released before the auction.
After an intensive bidding war, SunRisers Hyderabad made the final proposal for Arshdeep Singh of Rs 15.75 crore. Punjab then used the RTM card, and SunRisers were granted the opportunity to raise their bid. SRH then went for Rs 18 crore, which the Punjab Kings matched after a few minutes of deliberation.
Shreyas Iyer became the first Indian Premier League player to earn more than Rs 25 crore. He is currently in the midst of a bidding battle between the Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. He is thus the most expensive player in the history of the IPL auction, surpassing Mitchell Starc, who was sold for Rs 24.75 crore in the IPL 2024 auction.
