IPL 2023: Ravichandran Ashwin fined for breaching IPL Code of Conduct
Chennai, April 13 : Rajasthan Royals' Ravichandran Ashwin has been fined 25 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday.
"Ashwin admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.7 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding," a statement released by IPL read.

Earlier, RR was fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during their side's IPL 2023 match against CSK. As it was the team's first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, captain Sanju Samson was fined Rs 12 lakhs.
"Rajasthan Royals have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match 17 against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai on Wednesday," said a statement by IPL.
Royals made it two wins in a row as they beat Super Kings by 3 runs in a thrilling Match 17 of IPL 2023 in Chennai.
As for the match between CSK and RR, after being put to bat first by CSK, RR posted 175/8 in their 20 overs. After Yashasvi Jaiswal (10) fell early, Jos Buttler (52 off 36 balls, with one four and three sixes) put on a 77-run stand for the second wicket with Devdutt Paddikal (38 off 26 balls, with five boundaries). In the middle order, knocks from Ravichandran Ashwin (30 in 22 balls, with one four and two sixes) and Shimron Hetmyer (30* in 18 balls, with one four and two sixes) helped RR reach a competitive total.
Ashwin's all-around performance earned him the 'Player of the Match title.
