IND vs SL, Asia Cup Final 2023: India defeated Sri Lanka by ten wickets in the Asia Cup 2023 final at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. It was India's 8th Asia Cup title in total, and their first since 2018.

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first.

Sri Lanka was all out for 50 runs, the lowest total in an Asia Cup final.

Mohammed Siraj bagged six wickets for 21 runs. Siraj snapped up four wickets in five deliveries.

Forced to bowl first, India shredded Sri Lanka's top-order with Siraj's furious new-ball burst. Siraj first dismissed Pathum Nissanka, then Charith Asalanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, and Dhananjaya de Silva, leaving Sri Lanka reeling at 12 for five in four overs.

IND vs SL: Sri Lanka 50 all out

India bundled out Sri Lanka for its second-lowest ODI total ever.

Dasun Shanaka's side was blown away by a brilliant Mohammed Siraj spell after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Sri Lanka succumbed to 50 in 15.2 overs.

The total was the lowest ever in men's Asia Cup ODIs, breaking Bangladesh's past record of 87 all out against Pakistan in 2000.

Sri Lanka's owest 50-over momentum came in 2012, when it was bowled out for 43 in 20.1 overs, culminating in a 258-run defeat.

India chased the target down in 6.1 overs without losing a wicket. Shubhman Gill scored 27 runs off 19 balls, while Ishan Kishan scored 23 runs off 18 balls.

India's victory was comprehensive, and it capped off a good competition for them. They had a perfect record in the group stage and had beaten Sri Lanka twice in the tournament, including in the final. The triumph in the Asia Cup 2023 boosted India's morale ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023, which will be hosted in India later this year.
