PTC Sports Desk: Hardik Pandya, the Indian cricket team captain, expressed disappointment with the lack of basic facilities during their stay in the West Indies and called on Cricket West Indies (CWI) to address the issues. Despite the challenges, the Indian team, led by Hardik in the absence of Rohit Sharma, showcased a dominant performance and secured a convincing 200-run victory over the West Indies, winning the three-match ODI series 2-1. Hardik himself played a crucial role in the victory, contributing an unbeaten 70 runs off 52 balls.

Speaking after the match at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad, Hardik praised the ground but pointed out that there were improvements needed when they travel to the West Indies in the future.

He expressed that last year also, there were some hiccups and it's now time for CWI to acknowledge and address the issues faced by visiting teams. Hardik emphasized that they don't ask for luxury, but they do expect basic necessities to be taken care of during their stay.

The Indian team's discontent with the facilities had already surfaced when they faced a delay of nearly four hours on a late-night flight from Trinidad to Barbados, leaving them sleep-deprived ahead of the ODI series opener. Such incidents have raised concerns among the Indian players and prompted them to express their displeasure to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Despite the challenges, the Indian team's performance on the field was exceptional. They posted an imposing total of 351 for five after being asked to bat first in the final ODI. The dominant batting display ensured that India always stayed ahead in the game, ultimately leading to a comprehensive victory and clinching the ODI series.

Hardik Pandya's call for improved facilities and basic necessities for visiting teams in the West Indies serves as a reminder to cricket boards around the world to prioritize the well-being and comfort of players during international tours. As the Indian team celebrates their triumph, they hope that their concerns will be heard and addressed, leading to a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for future tours to the West Indies.
