Asian Games 2023: The Indian contingent started off the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou on September 24, with the first batch of medals arriving.
In 2018, the Indian contingent earned its largest-ever medal haul, garnering up to 80 medals from the event from a 570-member contingent.
The Indian team hopes to break their previous record in the 2023 edition of the continental championship, with a score of 100 or above being a realistic goal. On September 24, the women's shooting team started the nation's medal account in Hanzou.

1. Shooting, Women's 10m Air Rifle trio: The shooting trio of Mehuli Ghosh, Ramita, and Ashi Chouksey took silver in the Women's 10m Air Rifle Team event. They finished with a total of 1886 points.
2. Men's Double Sculls Rowing: Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh won silver in the Lightweight Men's Double Sculls with a time of 6:28.18s.
3. Men's Pair Rowing: The pairing of Lekh Ram and Babu Lal Yadav helped India finish third, earning a bronze medal with a time of 6:50.41.
4. Rowing, Men's Eight: India continued their medal run in rowing with another silver medal, this time in the Men's Eight event.
5. Shooting, Women's 10m Air Rifle Individual: Ramita Jindal won a bronze medal in the individual event in the 10m Air Rifle category after winning a silver medal in the women's team event.
