Sidhu Moosewala murder: Police get 6-day remand of shooter Deepak Mundi

Mansa, September 11: Arrested shooter Deepak Mundi, who was absconding in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, has been sent to six-day police custody.


Notably, Mundi and his two aides were arrested by Nepal police on Saturday. The arrested three accused were produced in court after a medical checkup. According to sources, shooter Deepak will be produced before Court on September 17. Notably, Deepak Mundi and his two associates - Kapil Pandit and Rajinder - were arrested by Nepal Police on Saturday near the West Bengal-Nepal border. "All three will be kept in the CIA police station in Mansa," police informed.



Moreover, Kapil Pandit, one of the arrested accused, said during interrogation that he along with Sachin Bishnoi and Santosh Yadav had conducted a recce in Mumbai to target Salman Khan on the instructions of Lawrence Bishnoi.



Meanwhile, Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav, updating on Sidhu Moosewala murder case said that "a total of 23 accused have been arrested so far. Two accused were neutralised in an encounter and so far 35 accused nominated."



"Red Corner Notice has been issued against Goldy Brar through Interpol with the help of central agencies," he added.

According to Gaurav Yadav, DGP Punjab Police, Deepak who was the shooter in the incident, was provided logistical support by the remaining two persons who were arrested along with him. "Deepak, Kapil Pandit and Rajinder were arrested today by the Anti-Gangster Task Force team at the WB-Nepal border in the culmination of an intelligence-based operation. According to Gaurav Yadav, DGP Punjab Police, the accused were arrested by the Anti-Gangster Task Force team at the West Bengal-Nepal border. As per the official, Deepak Mundi who was the shooter in the incident was provided logistical support by the remaining two persons who were arrested along with him.

"Deepak, Kapil Pandit and Rajinder were arrested today by the Anti-Gangster Task Force team at the WB-Nepal border in the culmination of an intelligence-based operation. Deepak was the shooter in the Bolero module, Kapil Pandit & Rajinder provided logistical support including weapons and hideouts," the DGP stated. Singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead by assailants in Jawaharke village of Punjab's Mansa district on May 29. The tragic incident took place a day after his security was withdrawn by the Punjab police among 424 others.
