Sidhu Moosewala murder: Mansa court extends Lawrence Bishnoi’s police custody

Mansa, June 22: A Mansa court on Tuesday extended the police custody of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi till June 27.


The decision in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case was taken late at night after the investigators said they required his custody to identify more people involved in the incident. In the evening, the police escorted Bishnoi from Kharar to Mansa under tight security. He was presented in court after conducting his medical examination at the Civil Hospital.

PTC News-Latest Punjabi news Notably, the court had sent gangster Bishnoi on seven-day police remand till June 22, however, the police presented the alleged gangster in the court a day early citing security reasons.

According to sources, Mansa police sought a 10-day remand, but the judge only approved five days. Other suspects, including Monu Dagar, Naseeb Khan, Pawan Bishnoi, and Manmohan Mohana, have been placed on police remand until June 27, according to authorities.

Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Jawahar Ke village of Mansa on May 29. The shooters were allegedly acting on the orders of Lawrence Bishnoi and Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar and had received support from Sachin Thapan, Anmol Bishnoi, and Vikram Brar, according to Punjab Police.

Sidhu Moosewala Furthermore, shortly after Moosewala's murder, both Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the singer's murder on Facebook profiles.
