SI Harjeet Singh discharged from PGIMER; DGP hands over son's appointment letter
Chandigarh: SI Harjeeet Singh has been discharged from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) on Thursday. His hand was chopped off (and later replanted) during the fight in an attack, while enforcing curfew at Punjab's Patiala Sabzi Mandi on April 12. Meanwhile, the DGP Punjab Dinkar Gupta has handed him his son's appointment letter, for the Punjab Police. SI Harjeet Singh’s son Arshpreet Singh has been appointed as a constable in Punjab Police on compassionate grounds. Punjab DGP had said in a tweet that "Thanks to world-class treatment and care by Director PGI and his team, our warrior Harjit just left for his home today. Thank you all for your support and prayers. We will continue to serve and support you! Jai Hind !" He also said that he "Felt greatly pleased handing over the appointment letter of SI Harjeet Singh’s son, Arshpreet Singh, as a constable in the Punjab Police. I am sure that he will serve the people of Punjab as bravely and sincerely as his father. Wish him all the very best!"
