Security tightened after Amritsar’s DAV Public School receives bomb threat

Amritsar, September 8: Well renowned school of Amritsar, DAV Public school, Lawrence road has received a bomb threat via social media after which security of the school and nearby areas has been enhanced. In a Facebook post he wrote, “Everything is normal at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar. It was only a rumor. I visited the school, talked to the school authorities and also with the police. The local police has conducted routine drill on the information. No need to panic. The school will function as per daily routine. Special Commando guards have been deputed to keep vigil only as a precautionary measure. I am available on my phone for any clarification in this regard, for the convenience of the parents.” May be an image of 6 people, beard and people standing Notably, a screenshot of Instagram DM is going viral over social media that mentions about mass firing at DAV Public school, Lawrence road on September 8. Meanwhile, Member of Parliament from Amritsar Gurjeet Singh Aujla took to his twitter and said, “Dear Sh.  Bhagwant Mann ji, it has be reported that Punjab Police  has combed a famed school in Amritsar for contraband and other substances. As per sources certain recoveries have also been made but authorities are trying to cover-up entire effort under some pretext. Similarly principal of *another* famed school received a serious threat panicking residents.I suggest CM of Punjab to instruct anti sabotage teams to comb school premises & direct police & intelligence agencies to explain this lapse in security & safety of public.” Reportedly, after tightened security of school and nearby areas, it is expected to function normally, no off or changes have been made by the authorities so far.
