Telegram's founder and CEO Pavel Durov revealed that the messaging app will soon launch 'Stories' feature. This feature is currently in testing and will be available in July of this year.
Durov stated on his Telegram channel that Stories account for more than half of all feature requests he receives. This feature is available on Meta's Facebook and Instagram.
The Telegram founder also stated that the Stories feature will make the app more 'social and fun' when unveiling the update. The user will be able to choose who can see his or her Stories, such as everyone, only contacts, a few selected contacts, or a list of Close Friends.

According to Durov, the Stories will be located in an expanded section at the top of the chat list, making them immediately accessible. A user can easily hide Stories and move them to the 'Hidden' list in the Contacts section.
According to Durov, the Stories feature not only includes photo and video editing options, but it also allows captions to give more context or links, as well as tag other individuals. Users will be able to post photographs and videos shot with both the front and rear cameras at the same time.
Users will be able to choose whether their story will expire in six,12, 24 or 48 hours. They can also choose to display story on the profile page permanently, with different privacy settings for each story.
