Elon Musk's surprise announcement: Twitter brand and logo set for overhaul
Elon Musk promotes xAI, his AI firm, aiming to comprehend the universe through its technology
New Delhi, July 23: Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has made a surprising announcement that he intends to rebrand the social media platform. In a tweet, Musk stated, "And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds." He also mentioned that if a suitable X logo is suggested, they will implement it worldwide starting tomorrow.
Since Tesla's tycoon acquired Twitter last year and made significant staff changes, the platform has faced recurrent technical issues. With declining ad revenue, the company has been grappling to revive the platform and explore alternative business models to advertising.
One such attempt is the Twitter Blue premium subscription, priced at $8 per month, which has had limited uptake. To boost engagement, Twitter has started sharing ad revenue with some Twitter Blue subscribers based on their interaction levels, particularly with accounts closely linked to Musk.
Musk's decision to rebrand Twitter comes on the heels of his recent announcement about launching a new artificial intelligence company, xAI. He claims that xAI will focus on "understanding the universe."
The move is a response to Musk's concerns over other AI companies, like OpenAI and Google, not adequately addressing the potential risks posed to humanity by AI technology. With these developments, Musk aims to revolutionize the tech industry's approach to artificial intelligence and ensure greater consideration of human safety in AI advancements.
