SC issues notice to NBE over release of NEET PG 2021 exam answer key
New Delhi, February 21: The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and others in response to a petition seeking the release of the question paper and answer key to the candidates for NEET-PG 2021. A bench of justices DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant directed the NBE and others to file a reply on the plea and tagged the issue with other similar pleas relating to the NEET exam. The bench was hearing the petition filed by MBBS doctor Sushant Gangey. The petitioner has appeared in NEET-PG 2021 conducted on September 11, 2021. The petitioner stated in his plea filed through advocate on record Kaustubh Shukla that he wants to bring to the notice of the apex court the grave and serious problems faced by thousands of NEET-PG aspirants across the country as a result of the respondent NBE's arbitrary action in not releasing the answer key and question paper for NEET PG 2021. The petitioner has requested the court to direct the respondent to release the NEET-PG 2021 candidates' question papers and answer keys, as well as to provide NEET PG 2021 candidates, including the petitioner, the option of revaluation/re-checking in the event of a discrepancy in their scores. The petitioner also requested that Clauses 9.7 and 10.4 of the NEET-PG Information Bulletin, 2021 be declared "unconstitutional" and that a high-powered committee be formed to investigate complaints of discrepancies raised by thousands of candidates across the country in order to ensure fairness and transparency in the evaluation process. The petition also sought an order to upload individual OMR answer sheets, as well as the question paper and answer key, to the login account as soon as possible following the examination. It also urged the NBE to provide the NEET-PG 2021 candidates with the answer key and question paper upon them filing the RTI application.
