Corning introduced Gorilla Glass Victus approximately a year and a half ago, and it has since been used in a number of high-end phones, starting with the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra as well as several rugged handsets. According to GSM Arena, the successor to this strengthened glass is on the way, and it will reportedly feature on Samsung's next flagships. 'Gorilla Glass Victus ' will be used on the Galaxy S22, S22 , and S22 Ultra. All three S22 models will have glass backs, according to reports from a month ago. Even if Samsung utilise an older version of Gorilla Glass for the back panel, it will be an upgrade over the S21 and S21 with plastic backs. However, the S21 Ultra did have Victus on both sides. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a special glass on the back, according to a leaked spec sheet, which cites Corning's Super Clear Glass. This glass will reduce glare and reflections. Dummy models of the three S22 models are available and judging by the photos, the back glass will not have a high gloss finish. Some colourways appear to have a matte finish. Pink Gold, Green, Black and White are expected for the S22 and S22 , while Burgundy, Green, Black and White are expected for the Ultra. There will, of course, be a vast range of first-party accessories. Samsung hasn't officially announced a date, but according to GSM Arena, the Galaxy S22 Unpacked event will take place on February 8.
