Russia warns US, NATO of 'consequences' over arming of Ukraine

Washington, April 16: Russia has warned the US of "unpredictable consequences" if it continues to deliver weapons to Ukraine. This comes just days after the Joe Biden administration announced an additional USD 800 million in military assistance. According to the Washington Post, a diplomatic note sent by Russia to the US this week warned that US and NATO supplies of the "most sensitive" weapons systems to Ukraine could have "unpredictable consequences." "We call on the United States and its allies to stop the irresponsible militarization of Ukraine, which implies unpredictable consequences for regional and international security," the note stated. According to the media outlet, the shipments were "adding fuel" to the conflict, the note also said. "It is possible," State Department spokesman Ned Price stated when asked whether the Ukraine conflict could continue through the end of the year. "What we are trying to do is to shorten this conflict."
