Russia-Ukraine War: Indian diaspora advised to move away from conflict zones
Kyiv (Ukraine), February 27: As Russia broadens its offensive against Ukraine and the war enters its fourth day, the Indian embassy in Kyiv on Sunday advised the Indian diaspora to move away from conflict zones. As per the latest update, Indians stranded in Ukraine are advised to move to the Western region subject to the security situation and the extant regulations. The embassy took to Twitter and informed that Ukraine Railways is additionally organizing emergency trains at no cost, first come basis from Kyiv. The schedule of the trains can be found at stations. "All Indian Citizens in Ukraine are advised to not move to any of the border posts without prior coordination with Government of India officials at the border posts and the Emergency numbers of Embassy of India, Kyiv," the advisory stated. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar announced on Sunday that the fourth flight of Operation Ganga has departed Bucharest (Romania) for Delhi, safely evacuating 198 stranded Indians from Ukraine. "Operation Ganga continues. The fourth flight has left to bring our 198 Indians from Bucharest to Delhi safely," Jaishankar tweeted. So far, 469 Indian citizens have been evacuated from the war-torn country, with 250 arriving in Delhi on Sunday morning and 219 arriving in Mumbai on Saturday evening. According to media sources, the Russian military has continued to advance in Ukraine's capital city.
