Rajsamand (Rajasthan), October 22: Reliance Jio 5G is here. The telecom operator officially inaugurated the country's new-age high-speed services on Saturday, as announced two months ago. Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio, launched the services in Rajasthan from the famous Shrinathji temple in Rajsamand. It plans to offer 5G services in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai this year. Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani said on August 29 while announcing the 5G launch in India that the telecom operator intends to extend its 5G network to every town, tehsil, and taluka across the country by December 2023. Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, resigned from the board of Reliance Jio earlier this year, handing over control to his elder son Akash Ambani. Jio's 4G network serves over 400 million loyal and delighted customers with the highest quality, most affordable digital services. Jio's 5G services are expected to lift the bar even higher. Reliance Jio Infocomm acquired spectrum in the 700MHz, 800MHz, 1800MHz, 3300MHz, and 26GHz bands in the recently ended 5G auctions held by the Department of Telecommunications, where the government received offers for approximately Rs 1.5 lakh. The four key participants in the spectrum auction were Reliance Jio, Adani Group, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea.
