Punjab: Two-month-old infant tests positive for coronavirus in Ludhiana
Coronavirus Ludhiana: Amid growing concerns over rising coronavirus cases in Punjab which has even forced Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to announce lockdown-like curbs, a two-month-old child has tested positive for COVID-19 in Ludhiana. In a first such case in Ludhiana, a 2-month-old baby has tested positive for coronavirus in Ludhiana. This comes a time when Ludhiana has been reporting more than 500 new COVID-19 cases on a daily basis. On Monday, Ludhiana recorded 758 new cases in 24 hours. The city has recorded a total of 43,821 cases, as of Monday evening. There are 4,704 active cases, 37,864 recovered cases in the city while 1,253 people died due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has announced lockdown-like curbs including the closure of gyms, bars and cinema halls. Even as the government has announced the curb on gatherings to 20.
