Punjab: SAD to gherao CM Charanjit Singh Channi's residence on Sept 29
Punjab News: Shiromani Akali Dal on Thursday announced that it will gherao the newly-appointed Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's residence on September 29. Shiromani Akali Dal leader Prem Singh Chandumajra demanded the market price of any land be quadrupled. Also, he accused the Punjab government of stealing farmers' lands. The gherao is scheduled to take place at 11 am on September 29. Meanwhile, SAD leader Maheshinder Grewal asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to "not interfere in Sikh institutions; Congress tried and it faced the consequences." The government is trying to please the corporate houses, said Chandumajra. A delegation will meet the Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on September 24 and hand over the memorandum on the same issue, he added. -PTC News
