Mohali, July 8: In a major breakthrough, Punjab police have arrested four members of the gang for snatching Rs 35 lakh. Sanjeev Kumar, resident of Khanna, had filed an application at City Kurali Police Station on July 1 alleging that on, his employees Gurdeep Singh and Mohan Singh had been identified by unknown persons who identified them as an ST employee Rs 35 lakh from them. After investigating the allegations made in the application, the case No. 66 dated 06.07.2022 was registered at Police Station City Kurali, Mohali. In a major success four members of the gang Gurdeep Singh alias Jassi, Harjit Singh, Varinder Singh and Charanjit Singh alias Channi have been arrested by the Chief Officer City Kurali Police Station under the leadership of Deputy Captain Police Sub-Division Kharar 2. The identified acussed Harjeet Singh, a police constable, was wearing a police uniform at the time of the incident. Arrested accused Gurdeep Singh alias Jassi son of Bahadur Singh resident # 239, Sector 26A, Mandi Gobindgarh, District Fatehgarh Sahib Rs. He was presently posted at District Fatehgarh Sahib. Accused Varinder Singh son of Charanjit Singh resident # 254, Sector 26A, Mandi Gobindgarh, District Fatehgarh Sahib Rs. Charanjit Singh alias Channi son of Atma Singh Resident # 20, Royal City, Jassra, Mandi Gobindgarh, District Fatehgarh Sahib A total of Rs. 17 lakh 40 thousand was recovered from City, Jassra, Mandi Gobindgarh, District Fatehgarh Sahib out of which Rs. 01 lakh 90 thousand was collected.
