Punjab's 2 more MLAs test positive for COVID-19

Punjab's Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Pargat Singh and Gurpratap Wadala have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, officials said on Wednesday. Pargat Singh is a Former Hockey Olympian and a Congress MLA from Jalandhar Cantt while Gurpratap Wadala is an MLA from Nakodar and a member of the Shiromani Akali Dal. The development comes after Minister for Industries and Commerce Sunder Sham Arora, Congress MLAs from Rajpura Hardyal Singh Kamboj and from Ghanaur Madan Lal Jalalpur, respectively, and SAD MLA from Sanour Harinder Pal Chandumajra tested positive for the contagion disease. Ex-gratia to the family of any deceased journalist dying due to COVID-19

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced that "Journalists have played an even more vital role in prevalent #Covid19 times by ensuring timely news to all. We have decided to pay ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the family of any deceased journalist dying due to Covid-19. We thank all journalists for their courage and hard work." -PTC News
